Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the 1st Respondent to cancel the computerised patta No.998 in favour of 3rd respondent and confirm the Manual Patta No.998 issued by the 2nd respondent, dated 14.11.2019, in Survey No. 224/24 to an extent of 0.00.50 ares situated at Kinnimangalam Village, Thirumangalam Taluk, Madurai District, based on petitioner's representations, dated 14.05.2025 and 30.05.2025.

ORDER

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to first respondent to cancel the computerised patta No.998 issued in favour of third respondent and confirm the manual Patta No.998 issued by second respondent, dated 14.11.2019, in favour of the petitioner in respect of the property situate in Survey No.224/29 (wrongly typed as 224/24 in the writ petition prayer), at Kinnimangalam Village, Thirumangalam Taluk, Madurai District, by considering his representations, dated 14.05.2025 and 30.05.2025.

2. Heard Mr.S.Balaji for the petitioner and Mrs.S.Jeya Priya, Government Advocate, for respondents 1 and 2. Since no adverse orders are passed against third respondent, notice to him is dispensed with. With the consent of both the counsel, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission.

3. According to the petitioner, he was issued with patta in respect of the property situate in Survey No.224/29 on 14.11.2019. He has been residing in the said property, by putting up a residential house. Now, a

computerised patta has been issued to third respondent in the very same patta No.998 for the property situate in Survey No.224/27. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner submitted a representation before first respondent, seeking cancellation of computerised patta issued in the name of third respondent.

Learned Government Advocate would submit that the petitioner was issued with patta in respect of the property covered by Survey No.224/29 and third respondent was issued with patta in respect of the property covered by Survey No.224/27. Under the circumstances, the representation submitted by the petitioner will be considered on its own merits.

5. In view of the above, without going into the merits of the matter, first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 30.05.2025, and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, after issuing notice to petitioner and third respondent.

6. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 23.06.2025 NCC :
