O R D E R

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction as against the Fast Track (Magisterial Level) Court, Nagercoil to expedite the trial and to dispose the case in S.T.C.No.101 of 2019 within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

2. The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the case in S.T.C.No.101 of 2019 on the file of the Fast Track (Magisterial Level) Court, Nagercoil, is pending for the past four years. Further, he submits that accused was absconded and now he has surrendered and the warrant was also re-called. Even thereafter, the trial has not been commenced.

3. It appears that the complaint was lodged in the year 2019 and the case has been taken as a summary trial and the summary proceeding is kept pending for the past four years, which is not proper. It is also pending before the Fast Track (Magisterial Level) Court, Nagercoil. The purpose of establishing the Fast Track Court is for speedy trial and here, the summary trial in the Fast Track Court is pending for the past four 2/4

years. Therefore, the learned Judge Fast Track (Magisterial Level) Court, Nagercoil, is directed to conclude the proceedings within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
