ORDER
The petitioner seeks the consideration of a representation dated 02.07.2021 in relation to the allotment of a house either free or on monthly installment basis.
2.The petitioner states that she belongs to the community of Vellalars and that she lives in poverty and does not own any property. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation on 02.07.2021 seeking the allotment of a house constructed by the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board in Rajakoor Village, Madurai under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission. Petition is filed on account of the alleged failure of the second respondent to take a decision on such representation. 3.Mr.P.Mahendran, learned standing counsel, accepts notice on behalf of respondents 1 and 3. Mr.P.Subbaraj, learned counsel for the State, accepts notice on behalf of the second respondent. He submits that the second respondent may be directed to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation.
4.The petitioner has enclosed her Aadhaar and Pan Card as also the representation submitted to the District Collector. The State has floated several schemes for the provision of housing to the poor and homeless. In fact, provision has been made in such regard even under the Pradhan Manthri Awas Yojana Gramin Scheme. Therefore, it is just and necessary that the petitioner's representation be considered in accordance with one of the applicable schemes and disposed of within a reasonable time.
5.Accordingly, without going into the merits of the matter, the second respondent herein is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.07.2021 by taking into account all applicable schemes in such regard and dispose of such representation within a period of two (2) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.W.P.(MD).No.16991 of 2021 is disposed of on these terms without any order as to costs.
