ORDER
The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking to quash the proceedings of the first respondent/the Revenue Division Officer, Devakottai, passed in Mu.Mu.Aa1/1504/2024 dated 01.07.2024 and for a consequential direction to the 1st respondent to conduct the enquiry afresh by following the due process of law.
2. In fact, the petitioner had earlier approached this Court by way of filing a writ petition in W.P.(MD)No.10610 of 2017 that he has been excommunicated from the village by the respondents 2/5
therein. This Court, by order dated 05.01.2024, disposed of the writ petition, directing the Revenue Divisional Officer to look into the issue raised by the petitioner and find out whether there is any excommunication procedure prevailing in the village and if it is found that such a practice is prevailing in the village, stringent action should be taken as against the persons, who are practicing excommunication in the village.

Pursuant to the direction of this Court dated 05.01.2024 passed in W.P.(MD)No.10610 of 2017, the first respondent/the Revenue Divisional Officer, Devakottai, has conducted an enquiry on 01.07.2024 and found that there was a dispute between two groups belonging to the same community, with regard to the conduct of temple festival and in view of the dispute between two groups, there was a breach of law and order and therefore, an enquiry was contemplated under Section 107 Cr.P.C. Therefore, this Court is of the view that there is no reason to interfere with the impugned proceedings of the Revenue Divisional Officer, Devakottai. 3/5
4. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. 30.07.2024 Index : Yes / No.
