ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by R.SURESH KUMAR, J.) The petitioner has moved this writ petition only today, seeking a Mandamus to give a direction to the 1st respondent to consider his representation dated 11.07.2024 regarding the permission to be granted for conducting a rekla race on 21.07.2024.

Learned Government Pleader appearing for the 1st respondent would submit that, the 3rd respondent / Inspector of Police seems to have given permission to conduct rekla race on 14.07.2024 and on that date, it was not conducted. He would also submit that, normally, this kind of permission would be referred to the District Collector and after getting his concurrence only, such a permission will be granted. When that being so, on what basis, the 3rd respondent independently has granted permission is not known and in this regard, it would be enquired and appropriate action would be taken.

Insofar as the present plea made by the petitioner is concerned, the date i.e., 21st July, 2024 as claimed by the petitioner is Page No.2 of 5

nearing, as only two days are left in between. Therefore, at this last minute, this kind of consideration could not be made, but any how, the representation dated 11.07.2024 would be considered by the 1st respondent / District Collector and an appropriate decision would be taken within a period of two weeks.

Having regard to the said submission made by the learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, this Court directs the 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 11.07.2024 and take a decision and communicate the same to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
