PRAYER:- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, directing the respondents nos.4 and 5 to give adequate police protection during worship at Arulmigu Vellaisamy Thirukovil Temple festival on 15.10.2018 and 16.10.2018 at Thaerikudiyiruppu, Kayamozhi, Tiruchendur, Thoothukudi District.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondent police to grant police protection for the purpose of conducting temple festival on 15.10.2018 and 16.10.2018. 2.The fifth respondent on receipt of the representation given by the petitioner, has referred the matter to the third respondent for the purpose of conducting the Peace Committee Meeting. Since there is a dispute among the parties in conducting the festival, the fifth respondent thought it fit to refer the matter to the third respondent to conduct the Peace Committee Meeting. 3.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent police would submit that the letter has been given by the fifth respondent to the third respondent on 27.09.2018. However, till date the third respondent has not convened the Peace Committee Meeting. 4.

The third respondent is directed to immediately convene the Peace Committee Meeting tomorrow i.e 12.10.2018 by calling all the parties and take an immediate decision with regard to the conducting of temple festival on 15.10.2018 and 16.10.2018. The third respondent shall ensure that the temple festival is attended by all the persons and while conducting the festival, the same does not give raise to any law and order problem.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
