Respondents PRAYER: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to rectify the mistake that crept in the mark statement of the petitioner's daughter Subalakshmi with regard to her date of birth on the basis of the proposal submitted by the 2nd respondent dated 26.07.2016 in Na.Ka.No.275 of 2016 within a reasonable time to be fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

The petitioner seeks for a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent to rectify the mistake that crept in the mark statement of the petitioner's daughter Subalakshmi with regard to her date of birth on the basis of the proposal submitted by the second respondent dated 26.07.2016 in Na.Ka.No.275 of 2016 within a reasonable time to be fixed by this Court.

2. The learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if the representation of the petitioner is directed to be disposed of, on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

In view of the limited scope of the prayer sought for the by petitioner, without going into the merits of the matter, the petitioner is directed to give a fresh representation to the first respondent within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on receipt of such representation, the first respondent is directed to consider her request, on merits and in accordance with law (in the light of the proposal sent by the second respondent) after providing an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner as well as the other parties concerned, if any, and pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks thereafter.

5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
