PRAYER: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to include petitioner's name in the regular panel for the promotion to the post of superintendent for the year 2017-2018, by considering the representation submitted by the petitioner on 11.08.2016 and 23.05.2017.

The petitioner seeks for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to include petitioner's name in the regular panel for the promotion to the post of superintendent for the year 20172018, by considering the representations submitted by the petitioner on 11.08.2016 and 23.05.2017.
2.The learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
3. At this stage of hearing, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if the representations of the petitioner, dated 11.08.2016 and 23.05.2017, are directed to be disposed of, by the respondent, on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period. 4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court.

5. In view of the averments made in the affidavit filed in support of this Writ Petition and in view of the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, the respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the representations of the petitioner, dated 11.08.2016 and 23.05.2017, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording sufficient opportunity to the petitioner as well as the other interested persons, if any.
6. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
