PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 5 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.05.2026. ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents 1 to 5 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.05.2026 to cancel the Kumbabishekam of Dharma Muneeswarar Temple, Sri Piramaiya Ayyanar Temple and Sri Hindu Vinayagar Temple at the Vannichipattinam Village, Manamelkudi Taluk, Pudukkottai District.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents 1, 3 and 4 submitted that the petitioner had earlier been a member of the Administrative Committee of the temples concerned and that he has since been removed from the said office. It was further submitted that, consequent upon such removal, the petitioner had submitted the present representation with a view to disrupting the scheduled Kumbabishekam ceremony.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either sides and carefully perused the materials placed before this Court. Since no adverse order is proposed to be passed against the private respondents, notice to them is dispensed with.

4. Considering the nature of the averments made in the petition and the submissions advanced on either side, this writ petition stands disposed of. However, it is made clear that the present Administrative Committee shall not, in any manner, hinder the petitioner or his family members from participating in the forthcoming Kumbhabhishekam.

5. It is further made clear that no individual shall claim any exclusive first-honour rights during the conduct of the Kumbhabhishekam. The Kumbhabhishekam Committee shall ensure that no person, including the petitioner, is discriminated against or excommunicated from participating in the religious functions and ceremonies connected with the Kumbhabhishekam.

6. With such observation, this Writ Petition is disposed of. 19.06.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No sm 3/4
