O R D E R

The petitioner, who is the District Secretary of Pudukottai of a political party, has made a request to the respondent police seeking permission to conduct the protest on 22.07.2024 at about 04.00 p.m in front of the Manamelkudi Bus Stop as against the police officers who have brutally assaulted one Pandian and Arunkumar. 2.The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that one Pandian and Arunkumar were brutally assaulted by the respondent police for which they are intending to conduct a protest in front of the Manamelkudi Bus Stop as against the police officers. In this regard, they have given a representation to the respondents, but it was not considered by the respondent police.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the said Pandian and Arunkumar are accused in Crime No.9 of 2024 for the 2/4

offence under NDPS Act. The request of the petitioner was considered by the Inspector of Police, Manamelkudi Bus Stop and the same was rejected by order dated 21.07.2024. A copy of the rejection order was also produced before this Court.

4.This Court considered the rival submissions made. 5.This Court is of the view that since the request of the petitioner has already been considered by the respondent police and the same was rejected by order dated 21.07.2024, the respondent police is directed to furnish the copy to the petitioner, enabling the petitioner to challenge the same in the manner known to law.
