This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned order dated 29.03.2023 passed by the second respondent, rejecting the petitioner's request for being appointed to the post of Village Assistant in any one of the existing vacancies in Kariyapatti Taluk, Virudhunagar District, based on the petitioner's application dated 11.10.2022.

2. Under the impugned order dated 29.03.2023, the second respondent has rejected the petitioner's request on the ground that there were no vacancies as on the date of the application submitted by the petitioner.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that a recruitment notification has been issued by the respondents on 27.09.2025 for recruiting to the post of Village Assistant. He would also submit that the petitioner has already applied for the post of Village Assistant as per the recruitment notification dated 27.09.2025. He would further submit that the petitioner will be satisfied, if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the petitioner's application seeking for appointment to the post of Village Assistant pursuant to the recruitment notification dated 27.09.2025 in accordance with law.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's application seeking for appointment to the post of Village Assistant pursuant to the recruitment notification dated 27.09.2025 on merits and in accordance with law. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
