ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents herein to give permission to conduct Adal Padal programme on 06/06/2026 in M. Pudupatti Village, based upon the petitioner's representation dated 01.06.2026 within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had submitted the representation only for the purpose of obtaining permission to conduct a cultural programme. However, as the said representation was not considered by the respondents, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition.

3. However, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent police submitted that the petitioner is not a resident of, nor does he have any connection with, M. Pudupatti Village. It was further submitted that the Vaigasi Pongal festival had already been conducted and concluded on 26.05.2026 and 27.05.2026. According to the learned Government Advocate, the petitioner, being a stranger to the village, is seeking permission to conduct a cultural programme therein, which is strongly objected to by the local inhabitants.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either sides and carefully perused the materials placed before this Court.

5. Having considered the submissions made on either side, this Court finds from the cause title itself that the petitioner has no nexus with M. Pudupatti Village. In such circumstances, this Court is of the view that the petitioner is not entitled to seek the relief prayed for. Accordingly, finding no merit in the writ petition and the same is dismissed. 04.06.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Sm TO:-
