This Writ of Mandamus has been filed to direct the respondents to place the petitioner in the panel list of 20152016 of Inspector of Survey to be promoted as Assistant Director of Survey with due consideration of petitioner being a member of SC and consequently promote the petitioner as Assistant Director.
2.In support of his claim, the petitioner strongly relies upon G.O(2D)No.299, Revenue Department, dated 27.06.2006 and G.O (2D)No.540, Revenue Department, dated 05.10.2006, whereunder, relaxation of rules has been given in respect of group of individuals.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner being a member belonging to SC community, is entitled to similar benefit as conferred in favour of the individuals in G.O(2D)Nos.299 and 540.
Therefore, the petitioner made representations, the last of which is dated 19.09.2016 for inclusion of his name in the panel list of 20152016 of Inspector of Survey to be promoted as Assistant Director or Survey and the same has not been considered. Hence, this writ petition.
4.The learned counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that it is agreeable for the 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 19.09.2016 and to pass orders within a time frame.
5.Recording the above submission, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 19.09.2016 in the light of G.O(2D)No.299 and 540 and to pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, W.M.P(MD)14800 of 2016 is closed.
