Respondents Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Declaration that the petitioner Minor R.Rajapandi is a"Student studied in Government Schools" and accordingly eligible to be considered against the seats reserved on preferential basis (7.5 percentage) as per the "The Tamil Nadu Admission to Undergraduate Professional Courses on a Preferential Basis to Students of Government Schools Act" (14/2021) in the ensuing admission to B.E/B.Tech., and other Technical Education Degree Courses in the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2021 and to allot one seat in U.G.Engineering Degree Courses in accordance with 1/3
the petitioner's cut off mark of 184.57 against the appropriate reservation of Backward Class.

O R D E R
The present writ petition was filed for a declaration that the petitioner is a student who studied in Government schools and that he is therefore eligible to be considered against the seats reserved on preferential basis as per the "Tamil Nadu Admission to Undergraduate Professional Courses on Preferential Basis to Students of Government Schools Act".
2. After the writ petition was filed, the Director of Technical Education has issued instructions by which the petitioner's request has been acceded to. The relevant portions of such communication are extracted below:
'''...Based on the above, the petitioner's request was considered and name of the petitioner is now included under the Government School category. Presently the petitioner becomes eligible against the seats on preferential basis (7.5%) as per the "The Tamil Nadu Admission to Undergraduate Professional Course on a Preferential Basis to Students of Government Schools Act" (14/2021) in B.E/B.Tech degree courses in Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission-2021.
3. It is respectfully submitted that the petitioner's rank will be revised and the list of revised Rank will be published shortly along with the other similar candidates at the earliest."
3. Therefore, the grievance of the petitioner has been redressed. The Director of Technical Education has agreed not only to consider the petitioner against the seats reserved on preferential basis for Government school students but also to revise his rank on such basis.
4. By recording the aforesaid, W.P.(MD).No.17008 of 2021 is disposed of without any order as to costs. Consequently, connected W.M.P(MD).No.13938 of 2021.
