PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to renew the passport of the petitioner's son namely, Kavikshan by considering the renewal application in File No.MD2076366281524 dated 15.03.2024 within the time limit fixed by this Court.

Heard both sides.
2.The minor petitioner is represented by his father. The contention of the petitioner's father is that the his wife belongs to Srilankan Country. Their marriage was solemnized on 01.03.2017 and the same is properly registered. They have blessed with a male child/petitioner herein and necessary birth certificate was obtained from the authorities concerned. Thereafter, he obtained passport for his son bearing Passport No.S3520754 dated 25.07.2018. The said passport expired on 24.07.2023. Hence, he applied for renewal of the said passport. However, the respondent without any valid reason is keeping the said application pending for more than a month. Hence, he has filed this writ petition.
3.The learned counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the application of the petitioner seeking renewal of the passport is pending with the respondent for want of certain clarification. If the petitioner appears before the respondent and give such clarification on the queries raised by the respondent, then the application of the petitioner will be processed.

4.The passport has been granted to the petitioner as early as on 25.07.2018. The necessary documents required for granting passport would have been annexed even at the time of granting passport. Now the present application is filed only for renewal of the said passport. Hence, there cannot be much difficulty in renewing the same. 5.In such view of the matter, the guardian/father of the petitioner is directed to appear before the respondent and rectify the queries raised by the respondent. Thereafter, the respondent shall process the application of the petitioner and pass necessary orders within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
