ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to pass appropriate final orders on the disciplinary proceedings made in memo No.RC.A2/9024/2010 dated 14.08.2014.

2.Mr.M.Pandiarajan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondent. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.According to the petitioner, he is working as Village Administrative Officer in Pagayani Piranthani Village, Devakottai Taluk, Sivagangai District. In the meantime, on 14.08.2014, the respondent has initiated the departmental disciplinary proceedings against the petitioner under Rule 17(b) of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Discipline & Appeal Rules) and appointed an Enquiry Officer for conducting enquiry. Thereafter, the Enquiry Officer has conducted the enquiry and submitted a report before the respondent. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD) No.17240 of 2019 After receiving the enquiry report, the respondent issued a show cause notice to the petitioner on 23.05.2018. On such show cause notice, the petitioner submitted his explanation on 01.06.2018. However, no further action is taken so far till date and the disciplinary proceedings pending against the petitioner is not yet concluded. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court for the relief stated supra.

4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent would submit that the disciplinary proceedings pending against the petitioner will be concluded by the respondent within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5.Recording the said submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court directs the respondent to conclude the departmental disciplinary proceedings pending against the petitioner and take a decision in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
