ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a direction to the first respondent to supervise the proceedings pending before the second respondent in Na.Ka.No.28725/2009/Aa5 within a stipulated time.

2. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3. Mr.K.P.Krishnadoss, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the land acquisition proceedings have been completed and the compensation is yet to be disbursed.

5. Mr.K.P.Krishnadoss, learned Special Government Pleader submitted that one Rajendran challenged the same issue, which is involved in this writ petition in W.P.(MD).No.16127 of 2003 before the Principal Bench of this Court and the petition was dismissed on 28.03.2013. Though further proceedings with regard to the disbursement was taken in a slow phased manner, the first set of people have already been granted compensation. He further submitted that since the petitioner is one of the legalheirs, who are entitled to compensation, enquiry in this regard is scheduled today. He further assures that the respondents will take necessary steps to ascertain and pay the compensation at the earliest point of time.

6. Taking note of the fact that even after the dismissal of the writ petition, seven years have gone by, and hence the authorities are expected to determine and disburse the compensation within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order to the eligible persons.

7. With the above directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
