This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 02.11.2018, wherein, the petitioner is seeking for issuance of patta with respect to the subject property. 2.The case of the petitioner is that he had purchased the subject property through registered sale deed, dated 02.03.2010 and he was in possession and enjoyment of the same. The petitioner made a representation seeking for issuance of patta and since the same was not considered, present writ petition has been filed before this Court. 3.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader, based on the written instructions received from the second respondent/Tahsildar, Srivaikundam, submitted that the subject property has been classified as Manthai Puramboke and therefore, there is no scope for granting patta in favour of the petitioner. The learned Special Government Pleader also produced the resolution that was passed in this regard, where it was decided that no patta should be 2/4

issued insofar as the Manthai lands are concerned. 4.In the light of the above submission, the relief sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted by this Court. Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
