PRAYER: The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to dispose the petitioner's application relating to issuing the community certificate in Na.K.No.2825/12-B2 dated 14.12.2012 on merits within stipulated period that may be fixed by this court.

ORDER

(Judgment of this Court was delivered by M.SATHYANARAYANAN, J.) By consent this writ petition is taken up for final disposal. The petitioner would state that he belongs to Hindu Scheduled Caste Parayan community and his ancestors were Hindus. During the course of time, parents of the petitioner got converted to Christianity and since the petitioner's parents converted to Christianity, he was called, by name, Francis Leo. The petitioner would further state that he has completed his graduation in B.A. (Economics) and after completing his graduation, he re-converted to Hinduism and to that effect, conversion certificate was issued on 23.09.2011 by the Aadheenakarthar, Madurai Aadheenam, Madurai.

2. According to the petitioner, right from re-conversion, he is practising Hinduism. The petitioner, after converting as Hindu, submitted an application to the second respondent on 14.12.2012 for issuing Community Certificate. Though it was received and acknowledged, no progress is taking place. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition before this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. Heard the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

4. In the light of the above facts and circumstances, without going into merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the Tahsildar, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District, is directed to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application relating to issuing Community Certificate in Na.Ka.No.2825-12-B2 dated 14.12.2012 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of six weeks form the date of receipt of copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
