ORDER

The petitioner has come up with the above writ petition seeking for the issue of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to appoint him on compassionate ground by considering his representation dated 21.01.2016.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.T.S.Mohammed Mohideen, learned Additional Government Pleader who takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

3.Compassionate appointment seems to have lost its meaning in the hands of the respondents, as the recommendation made by the District Educational Officer, Virudhunagar District, the second respondent herein, for further action to the first respondent, has been kept pending from February 2011. are lot of vacancies available for appointment of teachers in every subject, the respondents cannot be lethargical in their attitude in processing these applications. Though it is not palatable to comment the way in which the respondents are considering these applications, it is necessary for this Court to give a direction to the first respondent to consider the proceedings in Na.Ka.No.3359/A1/08, dated 01.02.2011, within four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
