Near Anna Statue at K.Pudhur Bus Stand, Madurai with Mike set.

ORDER

This petition is filed seeking writ of mandamus directing the respondents 2 and 3 to grant permission and protection to the petitioner to conduct the public meeting on 27.09.2021 for 2 hours ie., 2 pm., to 4 pm., near Anna Statue at K.Pudhur Bus Stand, Madurai.

2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondents would submit that because of the pandemic situation, the public meetings have been prohibited now. So, the permission to conduct the public meeting on 27.09.2021 was orally refused.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that in the very same place, the 1st respondent herein has given permission to other persons.

W.P.(MD)No.17173 of 2021 4.Such allegation cannot be entertained by this Court at this stage. When the pandemic situation is prevailing, it is the duty of the petitioner to cooperate with the Government to contain the same. After the situation becomes normal in future, the petitioner may revive his request.

5.With the aforesaid liberty, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
