Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.K.Udaya Kumar, learned Counsel for Government for the respondents.
2. With consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage.
3. While the petitioner was working as Field Surveyor, he was involved in a criminal case, which was registered in Crime No. 4 of 2020 on the file of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department, Madurai, for the offence under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. In the light of the said crime, disciplinary proceedings were also initiated and the petitioner was placed on defence before the Tribunal for Disciplinary Proceedings. Accordingly, the Tribunal for Disciplinary Proceedings, that is the second respondent, issued a charge memo vide proceedings in R.O.C.No.A1/98/2023 (TDP.09/2023) dated 31.10.2023. The said proceedings are still pending before the second respondent. As the disciplinary proceedings that were initiated as early as in the year 2/5
2023 has not been concluded as on date and there is an abnormal delay, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition seeking for expeditious disposal of the disciplinary proceedings. 4.Mr.K.K.Udaya Kumar, learned Counsel for Government appearing for the respondents submitted that cross-examination of P.W.1 was completed on 08.10.2024and the entire disciplinary proceedings would be concluded expeditiously at any rate within a period of three months.

In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of directing the second respondent to conclude the disciplinary proceedings as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
