Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take appropriate action to re-fix the petitioners pension and other retirement benefits based on the proposal sent by the respondent No.5 in No.15512/Po.3/2014 dated 22.05.2021 and pay the resultant arrears arising out of such re-fixation of pension to the petitioner in accordance with law.

O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed for the issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take appropriate action to re-fix the petitioner's pension and other retirement benefits based on the proposal sent by the fifth respondent in No.15512/Po.3/2014 dated 22.05.2021 and pay the resultant arrears arising out of such re-fixation of pension to the petitioner in accordance with law. 2/6

2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, although several grounds have been raised in the writ petition, it would suffice if this Court issues a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's proposal dated 22.05.2021 and pass appropriate orders thereon, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's proposal dated 22.05.2021 on its own merits and in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
