O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking a direction against the respondents 1 to 3 to conduct a peace committee meeting to enable the participation of the petitioner in the Mulaipari Festival of Arulmighu Mariamman Temple at Keelaiyur, Ilayankudi, Sivagangai District. 2.Heard Mr.D.Senthil, learned Counsel for the petitioner, Mr.S.Shanmugal, learned Additional Government Pleader for R1 to R3, Mr.Ramakrishnan, learned Counsel for the fourth respondent and Mr.S.Saravanakumar, learned Counsel for R5 to R8 and R10 to R12. 3.The petitioner apprehends that the private respondents, who are shown as respondents 4 to 12, might object to her participation in the aforesaid temple festival. The petitioner had also given a representation on 14.09.2021.

4.It is only appropriate that the every villager lives in peace and harmony with each other. There is always possibility of small difference coming up owing to the difference in attitude or any practice followed by their respective families. Still, in the larger interest, everybody should realise that ultimately life is short and during that particular time, to ensure that their life is sweet. They must also have a smile in their face, whenever they meet anybody in their village atleast.

5.I am informed by Mr.S.Shanmugavel, learned Special Government Pleader that a Peace Committee Meeting had actually been convened by the official respondents and I must place on record my appreciation in such a step being taken. I am further informed that in the Peace Committee Meeting, the petitioner and the respondents, particularly, respondents 4 to 12 had agreed, along with other villagers and their own brothers and their own relatives that they would live in peace and harmony and there would be no scope for any friction among them. 6.I am informed that during the Peace Committee Meeting, which was held on 24.11.2021, in the presence of the Inspector of Police, Ilayankudi, all the parties had also signed and agreed to live together and the petitioner and the respondents 4 to 12 and everybody else agreed to live together without creating any unnecessary friction among them.

7.I hope that this would continue. No further orders are required in the Writ Petition and the Writ Petition stands dismissed. The petitioner and the respondents may join together in conducting Mulaipari Festival without questioning the participation of the other and actually giving way to everybody else to participate in the festival. The petitioner is permitted to 2/3

participate in the temple festival. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
