Heard the learned counsel on either side.
2.The petitioner is a holder of Indian passport. He is presently abroad. Since he is involved in a criminal case, the validity of the passport has been restricted to 28.09.2022. The petitioner seeks extension of same by one more year. The petitioner has given an on-line application also. The learned Additional Government Pleader for the second respondent clarifies that the criminal case registered against the petitioner is only at the FIR stage. Therefore, there cannot be any impediment. The first respondent is directed to process the petitioner's on-line application and extend the same by one more year subject to fulfilment of usual formalities. 3.The writ petition is allowed accordingly.
