ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus to direct the respondent to renew the petitioner's passport in passport No.M2198520 in reference to the File No.TR2077101718524 dated 08.11.2024, pending on the file of the respondent Authorities by considering the petitioner's representation dated 11.06.2025.

2. The respondent has declined to renew the passport citing a difference in the date of birth as 31.07.1997 in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate and 05.11.1997 in the birth certificate. It is noticed that the petitioner was previously issued a passport based with the date of birth given in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate i.e., 31.07.1997.

3. Therefore, I see no impediment in directing the respondents to renew the passport based with the date of birth mentioned in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate. Therefore, this renewal shall be made as the petitioner has no other impediments for denial such renewal. However, the petitioner shall take appropriate steps to make suitable corrections in the date of birth in the birth 2/4

certificate under the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Registarion of Births and Deaths Act, 1969, before filing subsequent application for renewal of the passport.

4. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. There shall be no order as to costs.
