ORDER

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to cancel the patta issued in the name of the third parties in respect of the property situated in Survey No.244/A, with an extent of one hectare, in Thiruvelangudi Group, Karaikudi Taluk Sivagangai District District, by considering his representation dated 24.04.2025. 2.Heard the arguments of Mr.V.Karuna, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.D.S.Nedunchezian, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 and 2. By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission

stage itself.

3. According to the petitioner, the subject property was assigned in favour of the petitioner's mother, Jothimani and the revenue records originally stood in her name. It is further stated that during UDR updation, the revenue records were changed in the name of third parties. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation on 24.04.2025 before the respondents, seeking cancellation of revenue records in the name of the third parties and issuance of patta in the name of Jothimani's legal heirs including the petitioner. Pursuant to the said representation, the second respondent in his proceedings in Na.Ga.C2/1478/2024, dated 15.05.2025, directed the fourth respondent to conduct an enquiry and submit a report. Subsequently, there is no progress in the application submitted by the petitioner. Hence, he has come before this Court. 4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the matter is pending on the file of the second respondent and the final orders will be passed within the time fixed by this Court.

In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.04.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after issuing notice to the petitioner, the person in whose name the revenue records stand as on date and other interested parties.
