O R D E R

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members.

2.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submits that initially the respondent police has registered an FIR in Crime No.220 of 2024, for the offence under Sections 294(b), 324 and 506(ii) IPC. Subsequently, after investigation, the respondent police has found that the offence and the injuries sustained by the victim are serious in nature and altered the offences under Section 294(b), 324, 506(ii) and 307 IPC. Thereafter, the respondent police has submitted a report before the concerned Magistrate. He further submits that in this case, one of the 2/5

accused was arrested on 01.07.2024 and he is still in custody. 3.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that even after registration of the case, the some of the accused are pelting stones at the petitioner's house.

4.It is not known how the petitioner has got the report, dated 29.06.2024. Based on this report, the petitioner has filed this application as if the respondent police has deleted two other accused, who are shown as accused in Crime No.220 of 2024. The alteration report does not reveal that the deleted accused are not responsible for the occurrence. 5.Considering the submissions made, this Court feels that in the event if the accused are threatening the petitioner, the respondent police shall ascertain the genuineness of the petitioner's complaint and take appropriate action.
