ORDER

The petitioner has filed this petition to quash the FIR in Crime No. 500 of 2023 registered against him, on the file of the first respondent Police, for the offences under Sections 147, 294(b), 342, 323 and 506(1) IPC.

2. When this petition is taken up for hearing, Mr.P.Kottaichamy, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submits that the investigation in Crime No.500 of 2023 was completed and the final report has also been filed before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Sivagiri, through e-filing in No.LTN20220002193C2022400080 on 02.03.2024.

Since it is reported that the investigation in Crime No.500 of 2023 has already been completed and the final report was also filed before the concerned Judicial Magistrate, Sivagiri, through e-filing on 02.03.2024, this Court is not inclined to entertain this petition filed to quash the FIR in Crime No.500 of 2023. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.

4. It is very unfortunate that the final report which was filed on 02.03.2024 is not yet taken on file. The respondent Police claims that the final report is yet to be taken on file. Therefore, the learned Judicial Magistrate, Sivagiri, is directed to take the final report without any delay, if it is otherwise in order. The respondent Police, who filed the final report, is also having the responsibility to ensure that the final report is taken on file within a reasonable time. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
