ORDER:- This Petition coming on for orders on this day and upon perusing the petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of M/s. D.S. Haroon Rasheed, Advocate for the Petitioner and of Mr. S. Kottaichamy,Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents, this Court made the following order:
While passing final orders, dismissing the Writ Petition, the Coordinate
Bench of this Court had imposed a cost of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) on the petitioner for having suppressed filing of an earlier Writ Petition and directed the matter to be listed under the caption 'for reporting compliance'.
2. Today, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an auto driver and does not have sufficient means to pay the cost of Rs.1,00,000/-.
3. In view of the financial status of the petitioner, we are inclined to accept the explanation and accordingly, we reduce the cost of Rs.1,00,000/-, imposed in the final order dated 05.08.2022, to Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only), payable by the petitioner to the Legal Services Committee, attached to this Bench, within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. Post the matter on 16.12.2024 under the same caption 'for reporting compliance'.
