O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus, seeking for a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 24.02.2015, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that aggrieved by the order dated 28.01.2015 passed by the second respondent rejecting the petitioner's application for replacement of 'single barrel gun licence' to 'revolver licence', he preferred the statutory appeal before the first respondent on 24.02.2015 itself. However, it is his case that till date, the appeal has not been disposed of by the first respondent on merits and in accordance with law. In such circumstances, he has filed this writ petition seeking for a direction to the first respondent to dispose of the appeal filed by him, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

3. The relief sought for in this writ petition is an innocuous relief and no prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the relief is granted.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents on instructions would submit that as on date, more than eight hundred(800) appeals are pending on the file of the first respondent.

5. However, this Court is of the considered view that since the appeal was filed by the petitioner as early as on 24.02.2015, the said appeal will have to be disposed of expeditiously.

6. For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 24.02.2015 and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs.
