ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the third respondent herein to conduct proper enquiry pursuant to the CSR No. 296 of 2026 dated 29.04.2026, on the file of the third respondent police.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that he had given a complaint along with the details of the CCTV footage which would disclose as to who had stolen the petitioner's mobile phone. Despite such pertinent material evidence, the respondent police are not progressing with the investigation and sought the indulgence of this Court.

3. Learned Government Advocate submitted that they are very carefully conducting the enquiry and the enquiry is in progress and very 2/4

soon they will recover the mobile phone from the person who had stolen it. The IMEI number of the phone is continuously being monitored by the respondent police.

4. Heard either sides and carefully perused the materials available on record.

5. Considering the fact that already the petitioner had handed over the CCTV footage which would reveal as to who had stolen the mobile phone, the respondent police is directed to verify the CCTV footage and take necessary action and conclude the enquiry as expeditiously as possible within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. 11.06.2026 NCC : yes / no Index : yes / no pnn 3/4
