PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to direct the Special Court for EC and NDPS Court, Madurai to expedite the trial in C.C.No.247 of 2020 and to fix the time frame to be completed within the stipulated time as framed by this Court.

ORDER

This petition is filed seeking direction to the Special Court For EC and NDPS Court, Madurai to expedite the trial process in C.C.No.247 of 2020 within the time stipulated by this Court. 2.The petitioner is A1 in C.C.No.247 of 2020, which is pending before the Special Court For EC and NDPS Court, Madurai. Now, the grievance of the petitioner is that even though he is in custody from the date of his arrest for more than 250 days, the trial was not completed.

3.Considering the duration of the custody of the petitioner, the learned Special Judge For EC and NDPS Court, Madurai, is directed to expedite the trial in C.C.No.247 of 2020 and dispose of the same on merits, within a period of 6 months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
