ORDER

This Writ of Mandamus has been filed, seeking for a direction to the respondents to provide appointment to the petitioner, as per G.O.No.32 of the Transport department, Government of Tamil Nadu, dated 08.01.1986, in the existing vacancies, which are going to be filled up by way of compassionate appointment. 2.The petitioner's father had been employed as a driver under the respondents from 10.06.1982. After completion of 19 years of service, he suffered health issues and he was discharged from service on medical grounds. Thereafter, the mother of the petitioner applied for compassionate appointment to the petitioner and the administration has been telling that the name of the petitioner has been kept in the waiting list and it would be considered as per seniority.

asked the petitioner to wait for such a long time, cannot refuse appointment on compassionate grounds.

4.The learned counsel for the respondents would submit that subject to seniority, the claim of the petitioner would be considered.

5.Under such circumstances, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.06.2016 and to pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, W.M.P(MD)No.15619 of 2016 is closed.
