O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to direct the respondents to permit the petitioner's association to conduct the hunger strike on 01.08.2024 at nearby Timepass Tea Shop, Batalagundu, Nilakottai Taluk, Dindigul District and to set aside the impugned order passed by the 3rd respondent in Na.Ka.No.22/General/P1Ps/2024 dated 08.07.2024.

2. Hunger strike conducted by our leaders in the freedom movement played a vital role. A hunger strike is also one of the forms of democratic right of every citizen. The respondent police is not supposed to reject the application of the petitioner and the hunger strike is in a form of peaceful protest.

3. The respondent police are directed to grant permission for conducting the hunger strike to be held on 01.08.2024 by imposing reasonable and necessary restrictions and conditions to ensure law and order.

4. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is allowed and the impugned order is set aside. No costs.
