ORDER

The writ petition has been filed for a direction, directing the respondents to consider the recommendation made by the Commanding Officer, 14th Engineer Regiment, C/O.56, APO vide letter No.2183/62/Camp dated 19.08.2008 to the 1st respondent and to allot Government waste land to the petitioner for his sincere and honest performance in the Army and on the basis of petitioner's representations dated 18.08.2008, 04.06.2012 and 12.09.2016.

According to the petitioner, he is employed in Indian

Army. Considering his outstanding performance, the Commanding Officer, 14th Engineer Regiment, Bangalore recommended to the District Collector to assign a land to the petitioner. Subsequently, the petitioner approached the first respondent and filed an application on 18.08.2008 seeking assignment. On receipt of the above application, the first respondent also directed the third respondent/Tahsildar, Srivilliputhur Taluk, Virudhunagar District to take immediate action. Despite the same, no action has been taken, then, he made representations dated 04.06.2012 and 12.09.2016 to the respondents. Sofar, no orders has been passed. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

Heard the learned Government Advocate, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents, would submit that the petitioner's representations would be considered by the respondents within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 4.Considering the fact that the petitioner's application is pending with the first respondent from 18.08.2008 onwards and also the fact that he is working in Indian Army, the first respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's application, dated 18.08.2008 and the subsequent representations, dated 04.06.2012 and 12.09.2016, on the basis of the recommendation made by the Commanding Officer, 14th Engineer Regiment, Bangalore and pass suitable orders, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
