ORDER
This petition is filed seeking direction to the learned District Magistrate Cum Judicial Magistrate, Kodaikanal to expedite the trial process in C.C.No.119 of 2014 and dispose of the same on merits on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Kodaikanal within the time stipulated by this Court.
2.The grievance of the petitioners, who are accused 1 and 2, is that the case has been registered for the offences punishable under Section 12 (1A)(a) of the Passport Act, 1967 and Sections 465 and 468 of IPC on 23.05.2012 itself. Even after a lapse of 9 years, the trial has not been concluded.
3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) for the 1st respondent would submit that 3 witnesses have been examined so far and now, the case has been posted for examining all the remaining witnesses.
4.Considering the oldness of the offence, there shall be a direction to the learned District Magistrate Cum Judicial Magistrate, Kodaikanal to expedite the trial process in C.C.No.119 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2
Crl.O.P.(MD) No.14159 of 2021 of 2014 and dispose of the same on merits, within a period of 5 months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. After disposing the same on merits, compliance report must be submitted to the Registry.
5.With the aforesaid direction, this petition is allowed.
