PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2, 4 and 5 to relieve the petitioner from Erode Circle, enabling him to join Karur Electricity Distribution Circle in the office of the 6th respondent in accordance with the proceedings of the first respondent in Memo.No.077296/990/G.42/G.421/2019 dated 17.10.2019. O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2, 4 and 5 to relieve the petitioner from Erode Circle, enabling him to join Karur Electricity Distribution Circle in the office of the 6th respondent in accordance with the proceedings of the first respondent in Memo.No.077296/990/G.42/G.421/2019 dated 17.10.2019.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that pursuant to the interim direction issued by this court, the first respondent by Memo No.077236/990/G.42/G.421/2019 dated 16.12.2020 cancelled the impugned transfer order.

4. In view of the cancellation of the impugned transfer order by the first respondent, the prayer sought for in the Writ Petition has become infructuous. Consequently, the Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
