O R D E R
[Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA, J.] The petitioner has filed this habeas corpus petition seeking a direction to the respondents 1 & 2 to secure her daughter, namely, Alangirutha, aged about 24 years, produce her before this Court and set her at liberty.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that the alleged missing girl is her daughter. She was working in a Private Company by staying at Dindigul. She used to talk with the petitioner over phone every day. Whileso, she informed with the petitioner that her Manager, who is the third respondent, was harassing her. Therefore, the petitioner went to Dindigul to meet her daughter, but, she could not locate her daughter. On enquiry, she came to know that the third respondent is keeping her daughter in his illegal custody. Therefore, she lodged a complaint before the first respondent - Police on 15.07.2024. However, no effective steps were taken by the respondent - Police based on her complaint. Hence, this habeas corpus petition.

Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent - Police, on instructions would submit that the alleged missing girl has married the third respondent on 05.06.2023 itself and she had also intimated the said factum to the petitioner. To that effect, he has also produced a copy of the marriage registration certificate before this Court.
4. In view of the above submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, we are of the view that the alleged missing girl is not in illegal detention of anybody. Therefore, no further adjudication is required in this habeas corpus petition and the same is, therefore, closed. [A.D.J.C., J.] [K.R.S., J.] 24.07.2024 NCC :
