..Respondent Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to sanction educational loan of a sum of Rs.2,69,600/- to the petitioner's daughter Vignesh Priya within a stipulated period which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper.

O R D E R
The Petitioner has approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondent to sanction educational loan of a sum of Rs.2,69,600/- to the petitioner's daughter Vignesh Priya within a time frame.
2.According the petitioner, her daughter Vignesh Priya obtained very good aggregate mark in the Higher Secondary Education and got admission in the Engineering Course in the Ramco Institute of Technology under Self Financing Category. According to the petitioner, her daughter is the first college going girl in her family. The petitioner approached the respondent to sanction of education loan. The claim of the petitioner towards educational loan is to the tune of Rs.2,69,600/-, which represents the fees payable for the entire B.E. Course. The petitioner has an account in the respondent bank. According to the petitioner, the bank had initially agreed to sanction the loan, but for some reasons not acceding to the request of the petitioner. Petitioner and her daughter visited the bank several time seeking the loan, but no positive action has been forthcoming. In this connection they made a representation to the bank on 10.11.2016. written representation, no action was taken for grant of educational loan sought by the petitioner.
3.Mr.G.Marimuthu, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that a direction may be issued to the respondent bank for disbursement of the educational loan on the basis of the request made by the petitioner on 10.11.2016.
4.Heard Mr.H.Arumugam, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent on the above submissions.
5.In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, this Court directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner made on 10.11.2016 for grant of educational loan for Rs.2,69,600/- on merits and in accordance with law and sanction the same at an earlier date, if the petitioner is otherwise eligible for sanction of the same. The said exercise shall be initiated and completed by the bank within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. There is no order as to costs.
