This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction as against the respondents to remove the petitioner's name from the history sheet on the file of the 4th respondent police.
2.The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the case, based on which the history sheet has been opened, was ended in acquittal in S.C.No.100 of 2022 on 18.06.2024. Even thereafter, the respondent police has not closed the history sheet. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this petition seeking to remove the petitioner's name from the history sheet.
3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instruction of the respondent police submits that the order of acquittal was passed only on 2/5
18.06.2024 and the respondent police are not aware of the order of acquittal. In the event, if the petitioner submits a representation along with order passed in S.C.No.100 of 2022, the respondent police would take appropriate action within a reasonable time. 4.This Court considered the rival submissions made. 5.The petitioner is directed to submit a fresh representation along with the judgment passed in S.C.No.100 of 2022 dated 18.06.2024 and the respondent police shall take necessary steps and review the history sheet as against the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.With the above said direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
