ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.) The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 9 to take appropriate action to stop the operation of the stone quarry allegedly being carried on by respondents 10 to 12 in Survey No.1798, Paraipatti Village, Mallapuram Revenue Village, Dindigul District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 28.03.2026, within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court. 2.The petitioner contends that a stone quarry operating in Survey No.1798, Paraipatti Village, Mallapuram Revenue Village, Dindigul District, is situated in close proximity to residential houses, agricultural lands and 3/8

temples, thereby causing severe hardship to the local residents. Though the quarry licence stands in the name of a women's welfare association, it is alleged that the quarry is being operated by private individuals using heavy machinery and continuous blasting operations. According to the petitioner, the quarry activities have resulted in excessive dust, air pollution, noise and vibrations, adversely affecting agriculture, livestock, residential structures, and the health and safety of the villagers. It is further alleged that the blasting operations have caused damage to houses, injuries to residents, disturbance to worship at nearby temples, and inconvenience to children and elderly persons. Despite several representations submitted to the authorities, including a detailed representation dated 28.03.

2026, no effective action has been taken. Aggrieved by the inaction of the authorities, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition seeking appropriate relief. 3.

4.In view of the above submission, and without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, we direct the authority concerned to consider the petitioner's representation dated 28.03.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, the private respondents, and any other interested parties. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
