ORDER

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the first respondent to rectify the classification of the land situated in Old Survey No.117, New Survey No.195/7, measuring 6210 sq.ft, in Thiruvalarsolai Village, Srirangam Taluk, Trichy District, as Ryotwari instead of Government Poramboke, by considering his representation dated 17.03.2025. 2.Heard the arguments of Mr.T.Leninkumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.A.Baskaran, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3.According to the petitioner, the subject property was allotted to the petitioner, his brother and his mother, Thangathammal in the family partition dated 30.06.1979. The patta for the subject property was issued in the name of the petitioner's mother in Patta No.242. Subsequently, the petitioner's mother executed a Will bequeathing her share in the property in favour of the petitioner and his brother's wife. During UDR updation, the property was wrongly classified poramboke. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation before the second respondent seeking reclassification as Ryotwari. Pursuant to the same, the first respondent called for a report from the second respondent in his proceedings dated 23.05.2025. Thereafter, there is no progress in the matter. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court.

4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered on its own merits.

5. In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the first respondent is directed to consider the

representation of the petitioner dated 17.03.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after issuing notice to the petitioner and other interested parties. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
