Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent herein to initiate appropriate action under the provisions of The Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and senior Citizens Act, 2007 against the respondents 3 and 4 herein on the basis of the petitioner's representations dated 30.12.2024 and 02.06.2025 and dispose the same within the time frame as fixed by this Court.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus to direct the second respondent to initiate appropriate action under the provisions of The Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and senior Citizens Act, 2007 against the respondents 3 and 4 herein on the basis of the petitioner's representations dated 30.12.2024 and 02.06.2025.

2. The writ petition is disposed of at the time of admission after dispensing with notice on the respondents 3 and 4 as no adverse orders are proposed to be passed against them.

3. The petitioner had filed an application under Section 5 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and senior Citizens Act, 2007 before the first respondent on 30.12.2024, which has to be considered and disposed of by the second respondent.

4. The learned Government Advocate for the respondents 1 and 2 submits that the aforesaid application will be considered and disposed of on merits within a period of 12 weeks.

Recording the above submission, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to dispose of the aforesaid application of the petitioner after hearing the respondents 3 and 4 as expeditiously as possible within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Since the disposal of the application takes 12 weeks time, the second respondent shall ascertain if the petitioner requires any interim order, if so, the same may be considered and disposed of.

6. The writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
