Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to call for the records pertaining to the impugned order in Ref.No.TNMC/G227/2019 dated 14.05.2019 on the file of the respondent No.2, quash the same as illegal and to consequently issue a direction, directng the respondent No. 2 to register the petitioner name as Registered Medical Practitioner in their roll of register within the time stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The writ petitioners have undergone the course in B.Sc.(Community Health). They want to register themselves with the Tamil Nadu Medical Council. Since the second respondent rejected the said request, the present writ petition came to be filed.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioners reiterated all the contentions set out in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition and called upon this court to quash the impugned rejection order and grant relief as prayed for.

4. I am not persuaded by the submissions of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners. As rightly pointed by the learned Standing counsel appearing for the second respondent, only a person who possesses MBBS degree alone can be registered or enrolled with the second respondent. It is too much for the petitioners to aspire to be equated with those who have passed MBBS degree and above. I do not find any merit in this writ petition.
