Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to furnish the petitioner's brother Pandiarajan @ Rasukuttis death certificate which was registered on 09.05.2014. O R D E R

This Writ of Mandamus has been filed, seeking a direction to the respondent to furnish the death certificate of the petitioner's brother.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondent. 3.The petitioner's brother by name Pandiarajan @ Rasukutti expired on 17.11.2013 and the same has been registered by the respondent on 09.05.2014.

4.The petitioner has applied for death certificate of his brother along with necessary forms and fees. As there is no response, the representations dated 21.01.2015 and 27.06.2016 have been sent. As the same have not been considered so far, this Writ petition has been filed.

5.Needless to point out that some of the Municipalities and Corporations are furnishing copies of birth and death certificates through on line.

6.Under such circumstances, when the death itself has been registered, there cannot be any impediment for the respondent to provide copy of the death certificate. It is not known why the copy is not furnished. There cannot be any reason to refuse to furnish the copy of the certificate. Therefore, the respondent is directed to furnish copy of the death certificate of the petitioner's brother by name Pandiarajan @ Rasukutti to the petitioner without fail within a period of three days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
