O R D E R

This is a writ of Mandamus seeking direction to the respondents to restore the electric connection to the petitioners house bearing door No. 31/216-a situated at Edaicode Panchayat, mukkoottukal, Kanyakumari District.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the respondents.

3.The case of the petitioner is that he purchased a land in New Survey Nos.218/2 and 218/4 at Anducode Village, Kanyakumari District and constructed a house in the said property. Thereafter, the petitioner has requested the respondents to give electricity service connection to his house. Accordingly, electricity service connection was given by the third respondent on 4.10.2016. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4.Thereafter, on 05.10.2016 the electricity service connection was disconnected by the third respondent without issuing notice to the petitioner as well as without assigning any reason. Hence, the petitioner has given a representation dated 02.11.2016 to the respondent seeking restoration of electricity service connection to his house. As the same has not been considered so far, this writ petition has been filed.

5.The learned counsel for the respondents would submit that the electricity service connection will be given to the petitioner's house, provided the petitioner has to submit an indemnity bond. 6.Recording the submission made by the learned counsel for the respondents, a direction is given to the respondents to restore electricity service connection to the petitioner's house, subject to indemnity bond being given by the petitioner. 7.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
