O R D E R

This petitioner submitted a private complaint to the learned Judicial Magistrate, Pudukottai, which was referred to the police under Section 156(3) Cr.P.C based on which, Madukkur Police registered a case in Cr.No.365 of 2016 for the offences under Sections 294(b), 324, 327, 343, 364, 506(i) I.P.C., against Mainavathi, Sudharsan and Mathan.

2. It may be relevant to state here that the petitioner herein is aged about 66 years and Mainavathi, who is none other than his wife is aged about 58 years and Sudharsan and Mathan are his sons who aged about 37 and 33 years respectively. Now the petitioner is before this Court seeking police protection. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that even after registration of the F.I.R., the petitioner is being harassed by his wife and his sons and that they are beating him frequently.

4. In the considered opinion of this Court, the petitioner being a senior citizen, can approach the concerned Authority under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 and seek appropriate relief. The respondent police shall also ensure no physical harm befalls the petitioner.
