O R D E R

The petitioner is a retired staff of the second respondent society. He retired way back in the year 2016. I gave a direction on 12.06.2023 that his dues must be settled within two years. Sofar Rs.60,000/- has been paid. The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the persons who retired subsequently have been settled. This is a clear act of discrimination. The second respondent is directed to give priority to the petitioner in the matter of settlement. I suggest that a sum of Rs.50,000/- should be paid and not Rs.20,000/- per month. Be that as it may, within next one year, the petitioner's benefit should be settled. It is roughly quantified as Rs.10,50,000/- as of now. I make it clear that if within one year from today ie., 03.10.2024, the petitioner's dues are not settled, I will not hesitate to direct liquidation of the society itself. It would be in the interest of the second respondent to deposit Rs.50,000/- in the petitioner's bank account every month. 2/4
