This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 22.08.2016 and to dispose of the same, after giving notice to the parties concerned in accordance with law.

respondents 1 and 2. Having regard to the limited prayer sought for in this writ petition, notice to the respondents 3 and 4 is dispensed with.
3.The brief facts leading to the filing of this writ petition are as follows:
The petitioner has been appointed in the services of the third respondent College on 01.09.2008 and she is the Senior Most Assistant in the College. The post of Superintendent in the third respondent College was vacant from 01.09.2013. Claiming promotion, the petitioner has given written representations dated 02.09.2015, 04.01.2016, 20.01.2016, 03.02.2016, 18.02.2016 and 28.03.2016, to the third respondent. But, the third respondent College has given promotion to the fourth respondent. Therefore, the petitioner has submitted an appeal dated 22.08.2016 to the second respondent, through the third respondent. As no orders have been passed in the appeal, this writ petition has been filed. 4.Heard the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2.
5.Having regard to the limited prayer sought for in this writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the second respondent is directed to consider the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 22.08.2016 and after giving notice and opportunity of hearing to the respondents 3 and 4 and to dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
